Hey Hoophead!

There is plenty happening around the WNBA right now. Angel Reese’s pre-game comparisons with A’ja Wilson backfired badly, while Chelsea Gray reflected on her game-winning dagger and the satisfaction of silencing the Atlanta crowd.

Elsewhere, frustrations are also beginning to rise in Los Angeles, as the Sparks’ head coach openly criticized what he described as an “ugly” officiating situation following the team’s painful loss to Toronto.

Let’s tip things off…

Angel Reese and Karl Smesko's confident claims failed to meet expectations after the former's dismal performance against the Las Vegas Aces

  • A shorthanded Atlanta Dream side saw its valiant comeback effort fall short after a clutch jumper from Chelsea Gray helped the defending champion Las Vegas Aces hold on despite blowing a 19-point lead.

  • The Indiana Fever bounced back to winning ways against the Seattle Storm despite missing Aliyah Boston, with Caitlin Clark once again rewriting the record books by becoming the player with the most 20+ point and 10+ assist games in WNBA history. But while the win gave Fever fans plenty to celebrate, the injury to Makayla Timpson could end up being a major concern moving forward.

  • Gabriela Jaquez delivered a career-high performance to help the Chicago Sky secure their third win of the season with a seven-point victory over the Minnesota Lynx. But despite the impressive win, the celebrations were cut short after leading scorer Rickea Jackson suffered a worrying non-contact injury midway through the second quarter.

  • Kelsey Plum may have tied Maya Moore for the most consecutive 25-point games to start a WNBA season, but even that wasn’t enough to stop the Toronto Tempo from securing their second win of the year. The Sparks are already beginning to face uncomfortable questions around their playoff aspirations.

Sunday’s Results: Over 48% of you believe the Indiana Fever are the favorites to win the championship.

  • Azzi Fudd hasn’t had the start to her WNBA career that many expected. Unlike recent No. 1 picks who immediately became the face of rebuilding franchises, Fudd joined a Dallas Wings side already packed with young stars and veteran talent. Add in the knee issue that sidelined her against the Atlanta Dream, and it’s been a slow beginning to life in the league. But knowing her talent, we fully expect her breakout moment to arrive soon.

  • Unlike Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles has hit the ground running and is already emerging as the early favorite for Rookie of the Year. The former TCU guard has recorded the most assists by any player in their first three career games over the last decade, and her electric start doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.

  • Awa Fam hasn’t had the opportunity to suit up for the Seattle Storm yet, but she will soon join the franchise as a Liga Femenina Endesa champion after winning the title with Valencia. The Storm could certainly use some of that championship-winning experience right now.

  • Lauren Betts entered the WNBA season carrying huge expectations after being named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. But so far, she hasn’t quite been able to replicate those standards with the Washington Mystics. A major reason behind that has been her battle for frontcourt minutes with Shakira Austin.

  • Her former UCLA teammate Gabriela Jaquez, on the other hand, has wasted no time making an impact for the Chicago Sky. Almost nobody expected Jaquez to go as high as the No. 5 pick on draft night, but she is already proving why Chicago believed in her. And after exploding for 20 points against the Lynx, the excitement around her only continues to grow.

The CEOs of NVIDIA, Tesla, & Microsoft Agree on One Secret

This year, the world’s biggest tech CEOs all said the same thing:

NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang called robotics a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Microsoft’s Satya Nadella said 2026 is when AI will deliver real impact.

Tesla’s Elon Musk predicted, “AI and robots will make everyone wealthy.”

That opportunity’s arrived. Miso Robotics is leading the charge in bringing robotics solutions to the $1T fast-food industry.

Miso’s Flippy Fry Station AI robot has already logged 200K+ hours for fast-food brands like White Castle. Now, Miso has added iconic restaurant brands like Jersey Mike’s, Jamba, and Cinnabon as new customers.

With a new NVIDIA collaboration, strategic investment by industry leader Ecolab, and a growing manufacturing partnership, Miso can now scale to meet 100,000+ US fast-food restaurant locations, a $4B/year revenue opportunity.

The WNBA action doesn’t stop, with more games still to come. Don’t miss out!

Reese finished the game with eight turnovers and just nine points on 1-of-8 shooting from the field. A night to forget for the Atlanta star.
