There is plenty happening around the WNBA right now. Caitlin Clark addressed what she believes has been the Indiana Fever’s biggest issue following their overtime loss to the Mystics, while A’ja Wilson celebrated a rare achievement alongside her boyfriend Bam Adebayo after a historic WNBA night.

Elsewhere in the world of college basketball, allegations have surfaced against a Stanford University basketball coach over concerns surrounding the team culture.

Let’s tip things off…

Caitlin Clark reflects on her OT heroics and Indiana’s bigger issues after the Fever’s heartbreaking 104-102 loss to the Mystics.

  • For the second straight game, the Las Vegas Aces beat the Connecticut Sun. A'ja Wilson was outstanding in Uncasville, scoring 45 points while shooting 15-of-18 from the field. But despite the loss, the young Sun team made the defending champions work hard for the win. Connecticut outrebounded the Aces 32-28, forced 18 turnovers, and stayed in the game until the very end before eventually losing by seven points.

  • Caitlin Clark once again reminded everyone why she is must-watch television after knocking down a clutch three-pointer to force overtime. However, the Indiana Fever eventually fell short against a determined Washington Mystics side in a heartbreaking two-point loss. The Fever have now lost both games this season in which they scored over 100 points. Tough luck!

  • The Phoenix Mercury successfully defended their home court despite blowing a 17-point lead, handing the Chicago Sky their first loss of the season. Rookie Jovana Nogic stole the show for the Mercury, exploding for 27 points and knocking down five crucial three-pointers to help Phoenix secure their second win of the season.

  • Close losses are quickly becoming a worrying trend for Sandy Brondello’s Toronto side. Just when it looked like they were about to pull off an impressive comeback against the Los Angeles Sparks, Kelsey Plum completely took over the game. She scored 18 of her 25 points in the second half to shut down the comeback attempt and help the Sparks secure their first win of the season by four points.

  • Yes, the Indiana Fever might have lost the game, but Caitlin Clark once again created history in the process. Clark became the first player in WNBA history to record 75+ points and 20+ assists through the first three games of a season. She now also has the third-most games in WNBA history with 30+ points, 5+ assists, and 5+ made three-pointers.

  • It was a night to remember for A'ja Wilson, who made WNBA history after helping the Las Vegas Aces secure their third straight win. Wilson became the only player in league history to score 45+ points while shooting over 80% from the field, and her latest 40-point outing also saw her tie Breanna Stewart for the most 40-point games in WNBA history with five.

  • Kelsey Plum’s 27-point performance helped the Sparks finally open their account for the season. In the process, Plum also became just the fifth player in WNBA history to begin a season with three straight games of 25+ points. Only Maya Moore has ever extended that streak to four games. Can Plum become the next? It’s certainly something to keep an eye on!

  • Sonia Citron rose to the occasion in her first professional battle against Caitlin Clark, dropping a career-high performance and helping the Washington Mystics secure an overtime win that ultimately overshadowed Clark’s late-game heroics.

  • The Phoenix Mercury are quickly discovering they may have landed a special talent in rookie Jovana Nogic. The Serbian guard once again starred in Phoenix’s second win of the season, and her 27-point performance helped her become the first Mercury rookie since Diana Taurasi in 2004 to record 25+ points and five made three-pointers in a game.
