It all comes down to Phoenix and New York now, with three teams locked in the semifinals!
One of the matchups is set, and while the world might not have seen it coming, many of you put your trust in the Fever (shoutout to Evert Miller and all those who voted in yesterday’s poll). And here we are! It didn’t come without its share of emotions, fire, jabs, and everything in between. Plus, we saw a historic first for the league: two DPOYs in one season. Huge congrats to A’ja Wilson and Alanna Smith!
But while some were shocked, and some surprised, it seems one of A’ja’s mains might not be taking it quite as quietly.

Until Wednesday, WNBA teams were a dismal 1–90 in playoff games when trailing by 14 or more entering the fourth quarter. But in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Golden State Valkyries, the Minnesota Lynx rewrote history. Down 63–49 heading into the final frame, the Lynx pulled off a jaw-dropping comeback to edge the Valkyries 75–74. That victory made them just the second team ever to pull off such a feat, moving the league record to 2–90 in these situations. |
