There’s never a bad time to be a women’s basketball fan, right? We’ve had the college madness, the draft, the training camp… and now, it’s finally game time. The preseason has tipped off, and we got our first look at the rookies playing pro ball. Sure, it wasn't a good day for our star newbie, but the energy and the thrill made it the perfect way to jumpstart the season.

However, not everyone’s feeling the preseason buzz in the same way. Some teams got hit with bad news even before the season started. For the Washington Mystics particularly, it seems like the basketball gods might not be on their side at all.
