She Got Game Takes Over WNBA All-Star Weekend with ‘It’s Her Moment’—Athlete Voices Lead the Way

You’ve been with She Got Game from the start, or maybe you just joined us, but either way, the WNBA All-Star weekend is going to be our moment and yours, too.
And most importantly, “it’s her moment”.
As we land in Indianapolis for the WNBA All-Star Weekend, we’re launching our biggest on-the-ground coverage yet, led by our ‘It’s Her Moment’ campaign—a celebration of the athletes, voices, and fans driving women’s basketball forward.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll bring you exclusive behind-the-scenes access, fan-first storytelling, and the unmatched energy of the WNBA’s biggest stage, powered by our team on site, joined by three-time champion Natasha Howard at the Business of Women’s Sports Summit on July 18 at BullsEye Event Space.
Howard, an Indiana Fever star, leader, and lifelong student of the game, will offer her unique perspective as an Athlete Correspondent, giving you an intimate, player’s-eye view of the All-Star Weekend. From inside access and the weekend’s biggest moments to the personal stories only she can tell, this will be the All-Star Weekend through her lens.
Whether you’re in Indiana or following from afar, we’re making sure you’re part of it. Over the next 10 days, we’ll be sharing polls, fan questions, and giveaways, including the chance to have your questions featured in our coverage or to win signed merch!

All-Stars on Paper, Ls on the Court

If All-Star honors could guarantee wins, well… this would’ve been a different night. Let’s start with the Indiana Fever. The return of Caitlin Clark should’ve been a spark. Instead, it was a stall. But the game actually started off well for them.
Clark hit this signature three to announce her comeback, and the Fever even led by 9 late in the first quarter. However, it all unraveled after that. The Valkyrie’s deep roster clamped down, ran the floor, and played some classic suffocating defense, holding Indy to just 61 points. That’s their second-worst scoring night.
To make it sting more, Kate Martin, Clark’s bestie and former Iowa teammate, now holds a 6–0 pro record against her. Caitlin finished with 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting and spent the final minutes on the bench as Kelsey Mitchell led the team with 12, while Natasha Howard did a little bit of everything (4 pts, 2 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl) in just 16 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, the New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces came into Tuesday night’s matchup with their own baggage. The Liberty bounced back from an ugly loss to the Storm, though, clearly listening to whatever Sandy Brondello said.
Vegas was up by seven just after halftime, but then came that classic New York hustle - the dreamy, full-team chemistry kind of sequence like this, and the Liberty held Vegas to just 36 total points in the second half.
As for the Aces, they fell 78-87 and also got hit with a scare when A’ja Wilson took a hard fall and landed awkwardly on her right wrist. She shot her free throws, played a few more minutes, and then checked out. She did get an MRI. Now the official update is awaited.

A Flip of Fortune for the Favorites and the Forgotten

Just a few weeks ago, the Connecticut Sun and Minnesota Lynx looked like complete opposites. Well, not much has changed except this time, the contrast showed up in their most recent games, too. And not quite in the way you’d expect.
Connecticut finally snapped their 10-game losing streak with a 93-83 win over the Seattle Storm (who came into this game having won 9 out of their last 12), while the Lynx took a tough loss to the Phoenix Mercury, 79-71. To be fair, the Lynx came out with serious defensive energy. But the offense didn’t follow.
The Lynx missed eleven straight from deep. That cold stretch cost them as the Mercury stormed back and closed the game on a 19-4 run. In DeWanna Bonner’s first game for Phoenix, her boo Alyssa Thomas scored a career-high 29 points, as she completely took over at the end. Just look at these shots!
And in Connecticut, we all know how this season’s been for the Sun. A lot of people had already written them off, assuming they were just building a case for a lottery pick at this point. For now, against Seattle, the Connecticut girls shone.
Tina Charles made WNBA history with her 29 points-11-rebound performance. How? See for yourself. It wasn’t just her, though. With a team effort, Connecticut finished with 93 points - a season-high - along with 52 second-half points, also a season-best.
They trailed by 14 early. But for one night at least, Connecticut reminded everyone what it’s like when everything clicks.
0.2% of Salary?! The WNBA’s All-Star Pay Might Just Shock You

✨ She Got Glam! ✨
We’re all glad to see Caitlin Clark back, but it’s been a rough stretch. She’s missed more games than she’s played, and even when she’s out there, her three-point shot’s been…unpredictable: 43.6% at home, just 3.6% on the road. Still, slump or not, she’s the main attraction as Indiana gets ready to host the All-Star Weekend. The city has basically rebranded around her. The biggest attraction? Check this crazy banner out.

Angel’s a Star, Period! The Reesumé Speaks for Itself

“There’s not a cover I can’t be on,” Angel Reese once said. Do we believe her? Better question: how can’t we? Reese is a star, hands down. No one’s played the marketing game better. Plenty of people have made history either on or off the court, but how many can say they’ve done both?
Being named an All-Star for the second straight year, Reese was in the middle of a historic run- six straight games with at least 15 rebounds. While that streak ended against Dallas (she had 11), her team finally broke through with an 87–76 win over the Wings, who dropped their second straight. And that makes up for it.
Of course, it didn't come without a little fire. This time, it even involved a staff member on the sidelines. Watch Reese practically channel Kim Mulkey. But the biggest moment came off the court. 2K Games announced she’ll appear on the cover of the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26, which is set for a September 5 release. She joins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Carmelo Anthony as the cover stars of 2K26.
“She’s a star. You don’t get that type of acknowledgement if you’re not,” said coach Tyler Marsh. And who’s arguing? To top it off, just hours earlier, Reebok unveiled her first signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1s. Take a look at the sneakers - just don’t get confused whether to stare at the kicks or just be stunned by Reese herself.
With this, she joins a short list of WNBA stars with signature shoes. No doubt, the sky’s the limit for the sophomore. However, her Sky (6–13) still need to find their rhythm.
